PETITE PRIMAS
4 - 7 years of age
There are two levels of Petite Prima classes specially designed for 4-5 and 6-7 year olds. These classes create and nurture a love of ballet with a focus on fun, friends, and an introduction to classical technique.
The Prima Ballet Academy's Petite Prima classes are a young dancer's first step into a structured dancing environment. These classes involve the use of props and imagination, ensuring all of our dancers have a fantastic time whilst also learning important foundation technique from a fully qualified ballet teacher.
With ballet uniforms, a dance in our annual concert and the opportunity to participate in ballet presentations, these are the classes where children see themselves turning into "real ballet dancers".
Our Classes
PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Once children reach the age suitable for Petite Prima classes, they no longer enjoy having a room full of parents watching them learn. Therefore, parents of this age group are required to wait in our newly renovated reception area where they can relax in one of our comfy chairs in front of the heater. Some parents choose to head to a local cafe for a quiet coffee, or even get some shopping done at the Woolworths across the road. We do ask parents to make sure they are back at least 5 minutes before the end of class as we often invite everyone into the studio to see one of the dances we've been working on!
WHAT TO WEAR
Petite Prima students wear a lilac uniform, ballet tights or socks, and ballet shoes.
PERFORMANCES
Our Petite Primas perform a dance in our end of year concert. This is the most exciting day of the ballet year for them!
