ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE (RAD) EXAM CLASSES

Because all of our classes are taught by a qualified ballet teacher, the

Prima Ballet Academy has the privilege of being able to enter students for optional RAD examinations.

There are different types of examinations/assessments to suit the desires of each individual student, although no assessments are compulsory.

The Royal Academy of Dance has Recognised Formal Learning status in Australia. Therefore, students are awarded Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) points for each completed exam.

The RAD offers an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities, outlining a progressive structure for learning and achievement.

RAD exams are extremely positive experiences which the dancers thoroughly enjoy. They are available for students from 5 years of age to adults and they provide students with an important and achievable goal to work towards. By achieving those goals we often see a remarkable boost in self-confidence and an increased level of discipline and commitment within the class environment.

Although many children choose to enter exams, it is not compulsory for any student to do so. At the Prima Ballet Academy, we put the needs and desires of each child at the forefront when discussing assessment options with families. No child or family is ever pressured to undertake any assessments.
