WHAT OUR FAMILIES HAVE TO SAY

JENNA
"I never wanted my daughter to dance because I didn't want the hectic lifestyle it often brings. That's why the Prima Ballet Academy has been perfect for us. With one ballet class a week and no competitions, my daughter gets to live her dream of being a ballerina and we still get to spend our evenings together as a family."

FAQS
HOW IS THE PRIMA BALLET ACADEMY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER LOCAL BALLET/DANCE SCHOOLS?
All classes at the Prima Ballet Academy are taught by a qualified ballet teacher. There are only a handful of qualified ballet teachers in Tasmania so this qualification from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) sets our ballet school apart from many other schools. Having a qualified ballet teacher not only enables children to participate in exams, masterclasses and workshops, but also ensures that all students are taught correct and safe technique at appropriate stages of their development.
WHY SHOULD WE CHOOSE A ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE (RAD) BALLET SCHOOL?
All RAD registered teachers hold an internationally recognised dance teaching qualification. They are required to undertake 'Continuing Professional Development' (CPD) hours every year. This means that you can be confident in their dance knowledge and teaching ability.
WOULD MY CHILD HAVE TO DO COMPETITIONS?
The Prima Ballet Academy does not participate in any competitions.
WOULD MY CHILD HAVE TO DO BALLET EXAMS?
None of our dancers are forced to participate in ballet exams. Although most children choose to do their exam, this is a decision that is made by each child and their family.
IS THIS A GIRLS-ONLY BALLET SCHOOL?
No! There are a number of boys already enrolled in the Prima Ballet Academy. Boys who dance see social, physical, and intellectual benefits that will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives.
CAN I WATCH MY CHILD'S BALLET CLASS?
Parents of Twinkle Toes Toddler Ballet dancers are required to stay in the studio throughout their child's class. As children move up into other age groups parents no longer sit in the class to avoid becoming a distraction for their child. Families are invited to come and watch classes periodically throughout the year to see their child's progress.
